During the past couple of decades the Fellowship at Hanney has been a part of the Abbey Baptist Church (Checker Walk, Abingdon). Over that time the fellowship had grown in numbers and on the 15th January 2012 Hanney Chapel became an independent church with 39 members. It is formally a member of the Association of Grace Baptist Churches in the South East (AGBCSE).
In God's grace the church has continued to grow and we are grateful that after a period of some 60 years without a full-time minister, on the 15th February 2014, Mark Fisher (formerly of the Heath Evangelical Church, Cardiff) was inducted as the Pastor of Hanney Chapel.
It is a place for people to meet together and worship God. The church holds both morning and evening services each Sunday and exists to spread the Good News about Jesus Christ to the people of Hanney and the surrounding area.
Those who meet at Hanney Chapel form a group of local people of all ages and backgrounds who have begun this new relationship with Christ. We are trying to live our lives so as to express our thanks to God and to please Him. We still have a long way to go….
Which is why we meet together regularly to encourage one another, to worship God and to learn more of what His Bible teaches. Our meetings are conducted in quite a simple way, and with a friendly atmosphere – why don’t you come and see?
We provide refreshments after most meetings and you would be most welcome.
